ISD Dunaferr Group was founded in 1950. Today our group of companies, with its headquarters in Dunaújváros, more than 7500 employees, and consolidated sales revenue surpassing one billion euros, is one of the biggest manufacturing g roups in H ungary. ISD Dunaferr produces annually up to 1.3-1.4 million tons of pig iron, 1.6-1.7 million tons of LD steel, the finished steel product output is about 2 million tons. Thanks to integrated technology, the company group provides a wide range of products including hot rolled coils and sheets, pickled coils and sheets, cold rolled coils and sheets, hot dipped galvanized coils and sheets and cold bent steel sections as well.

With its history of six decades, today ISD Dunaferr Group is focused on customer-oriented production by manufacturing very competitive, highest quality steel products employing environmentally conscious technologies. Another highest priority for the company is establishing healthy and safe working conditions. Thus, the goal of our Group is to produce high-quality products and to carry out production and product development which can respond flexibly to custo- mers’ demand.

In order to achieve these goals, the companies of ISD Dunaferr Group employ integrated corporate management system (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001) certified by independent certification authorities.

The ironwork is the engine of the town. Dunaújváros is the home to nearly 50,000 people, ISD DUNAFERR employs 7,500 people, a number of businesses are based in the neighbourhood of ISD DUNAFERR; the town has excellent traffic infrastructure, educational institutes and trade facilities. The operation of the plant has crucial influence on the life of some 100,000 people. The local business tax paid by company makes 20-25% of the town budget. The production area of ISD DUNAFERR occupies nearly 1/3 of the area of the town.

The company was privatized on 30 September 2004, its majority owner Industrial Union of Donbass (ISD Corporation) carried out strategic investment projects at all subsidiaries. ISD Corporation - as part of this strategy - realized a series of extensive investment projects. The first phase of investment projects has been completed in Cold Rolling Mill.

Investment projects covered the capacity increase of CRM finished product output from 0.5 million ton to nearly 1 million ton and the pickling capacity from 500 thousand ton to 1.6 million tons as well as the environmental protection investment projects related to integrated steel production.

ISD Dunaferr Group continues to carry on extended commercial activities in the EU market. The management of sales is carried out by the Sales Department in ISD Dunaferr‘s Buda pest office.
