Heavy plates production
The raw material of the rolling is the continuouscasted slab, which is purchased mainly from Dunaferr Dunai Vasmu Rt. and from the Alchevsk Iron and Steel Works.
Preparation
The receipt, preparation and the surface adjustment is done at the slab-yard.
Heating
The heating of the raw material up to the rolling temperature is done in a natural gas stoking
pushing furnace with automatic temperature and gas-air ratio controlling system.
Descaling
- cinder-poor heating
- scale braking and high water pressure
descaling after heating
- descaling with water during rolling
a Lauth-trio rolling stand in any ordered size within the size range with automatic roll throat control.

Hot levelling

Finishing
The cut-to-size of the plates is done by end and side shears to the ordered sizes within the size range.
Concerning the shape and sizes, the regulations of EN 10029 are standard.
Plates of non-standard sizes and technical characteristics out of standards can be rolled upon special agreements up to 100, resp. 160 mm thickness.
The catalogue shows the thichnesses cut by shears. Those thicker sizes which are not suitable for shear-cutting are cut by an automatic ESAB-produced flame cutter.

The plates produced are delivered in 3-5 tons packs separated by wooden blocks.
In case of need there is possibility for bundling by steel strips upto 1500x3000 mm plate size.
The delivery can be arranged either by rail or by rucks. Barge-delivery on the Danube is possible.
